Forklifts and loaders for outdoor yards
An outdoor yard is a surface problem first: mud, gravel, gradients and standing water decide whether a warehouse truck survives the season.
What decides the machine here
Surface
Pneumatic tyres and high clearance for gravel and mud; solid tyres crack on rough ground and destroy the floor indoors.
Weather
Rain into the mast channels and the hydraulic tank. A sealed mast and a weatherproof canopy are not cosmetic options.
Gradient
Ramps change the load map. A truck rated 3 t on the flat is not rated 3 t on a 10% slope.
Cold start
Diesel units in freezing conditions need a block heater or a pre-heat cycle; battery units need a heated charge location.
Models that work in this environment
The first four sizes of each relevant range. Every one links to its full specification.
| Range | Model | Capacity | Bought for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skid Steer Loader | ME380-2 | 200 kg | 200 kg rated, two-cylinder. |
| Skid Steer Loader | ME380-3 | 200 kg | 200 kg rated, three-cylinder. |
| Skid Steer Loader | ME480 | 300 kg | 300 kg rated. |
| Skid Steer Loader | ME1200 | 500 kg | 500 kg rated. |
The mistake we see most
Using a warehouse counterbalance truck outdoors because it was already owned. The axle and the mast take loads they were not designed for, and the repair bill arrives in year two.
Describe the site, not the machine
Ground surface, aisle or gate width, lift height, hours per shift, destination port. We answer with the model and the reason.
